Early Voting and In-Person Registration
Early Voting begins Mon., March 23 at 51 locations in Chicago, and each site also will offer voter registration.
All sites will be open from March 23 through April 4. Hours at all sites will be Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sun., March 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Voters don’t need a reason or excuse to use Early Voting, but they do need government-issued photo ID. Chicago voters may use any early voting site in the city, regardless of where they live.
“With April 7 being in the middle of spring break, we expect strong use of Early Voting and Absentee Voting,” said Election Board Secretary/Commissioner Marisel A. Hernandez. “With Early Voting and Absentee Voting, people may cast their ballots when and where they want. This way, there’s no need to worry about a scheduling conflict on April 7.”
Any voter who needs to file a name or address change, or who needs to register for the first time, will need to present two forms of ID, at least one of which shows the voter’s current address. Voters who register or file a name or address change must be ready to vote during that same visit.
