Today, the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners met to officially declare and proclaim the official results of the March 19, 2024 Presidential Primary Election, including votes for qualified write-in candidates.

The City of Chicago saw 390,697 ballots cast for a 25.88% citywide turnout for 1,509,554 active registered voters.
- 190,573 ballots cast on Election Day, March 19th
- 19,339 ballots cast at Vote Centers
- 48.78% of total ballots cast
- 91,438 Early Voting ballots cast (before Election Day, March 19th)
- 23.40% of total ballots cast
- 108,686 Vote By Mail ballots cast
- 176,210 total VBM applications processed (61.67% successful VBM return rate)
- 48,414 VBM ballots received via Secure Drop Box
- 27.82% of total ballots cast
In the March 17, 2020 Primary Election, there were 575,985 ballots cast for a 37.78% citywide turnout for 1,524,598 active registered voters.
- 200,268 Early Votes cast (34.77% of total ballots cast)
- 83,361 Vote By Mail ballots returned (*117,118 VBM applications processed) (14.47% of total ballots cast)
In the March 15, 2016 Primary Election, there were 810,823 ballots cast for a 53.52% citywide turnout for 1,514,912 active registered voters.
- 155,153 Early Votes cast (19.14% of total ballots cast)
- 26,364 Vote By Mail ballots returned (*33,953 VBM applications processed) (3.25% of total ballots cast)
In the March 20, 2012 Primary Election, there were 315,164 ballots cast for a 24.46% citywide turnout for 1,288,293 active registered voters.
